1Password is an IPhone application which is highly useful in securing and managing passwords for website logins and other important online accounts. It is very stable and very usable. For those users who are already unable to keep track of how many accounts they have including its corresponding passwords, then this application is a must-have.
This application lets the users store encrypted passwords for their social networking sites such as Facebook, Multiply, Twitter; blogsites like Tumblr, WordPress; and even for their online banking accounts and license numbers. This makes it a lot easier for the users to directly visit all sites since the application immediately generates and enters their password for them. What is good about this application is that it can allow users to constantly use their mobile in conjunction with the desktop version. Ofcourse this needs WiFi connection in order to import data from the mobile to the desktop. The users can also enter all they confidential information directly to the mobile application if they do not want to use a computer.
1Password has two versions. First is the $5 edition, a cheaper version compared to the second which is the $8 edition (1Password Pro). The application is very simple and easy to use. Initially, the users are required to generate two login passwords. First would be the four-digit unlocking code which the users need to enter every time the open and use the application. The second is the longer master password in which the users need to enter every time they view and use their saved items. Now the master password can be disabled on every chosen item depending on the users’ preference. The application can also help users in generating strong passwords every time they make new accounts or sign up to a new service or website. There are also times when users open websites and it just prompts them to change or make a new password for their account. The application comes in handy in these situations since it can do the job for them by generating new, strong passwords for their account. This saves more time and effort on the part of the user. The application also has a very neat way of compiling and organizing account passwords. Website logins are designed in an organized pattern and listed in two columns. On the first column, the users can view the list of the sites that they have saved. The other column shows them the details and other information of a certain site that they have selected. It makes the user’s job easier since they do not have to remember their password anymore the next time that they log in.
1Password is available for purchase at a price of $40. Good news is, users can find a discounted price of the application online. It may be a high price for an application but 1Password definitely gives justice to its cost. It is can be downloaded and installed with Microsoft as well as with Mac OS X.
