MyTouch has further added to its existing product portfolio by launching the new T-Mobile MyTouch 4G. The device is an enhanced version of the previous models as it looks more solid. The operating system is Android just like the previous additions but the added feature is that this device has a better backup support program. It offers Wi-Fi calling, mobile hot spot capabilities, 1Ghz Snapdragon process etc. The device has been priced at $199.99 with a two year contract. MyTouch 4G offers great call quality, and it is small and sleek in design and would impress users who prefer the touch format.
Design
Compared to its previous editions, there is not much difference. However, one very noticeable difference is the addition of the stainless steel parts which give it a solid look. Furthermore, the device has been designed with smooth edges which users prefer more while handling smart phones. One distinguishable factor is that the feel of the device changes according to the colors. The measurements of the device are 0.4 inches thick, 4.8 inches tall and 2.4 inches wide.
The display of the device is comparatively similar to the existing ones launched by MyTouch. The display is of 3.8 inches which allows adequate use of the touch screen without making it a bad experience. This device allows you to customize around 5 to 7 home screens and there is a separate thumbnail for each of the home screen on the main display.
Since the Android is a completely new setup in most of the countries, the interface has been designed in such a manner that a first time user of the device would not feel any difficulty. This means that the interface is very user friendly and users can easily adapt to the Android OS. The main layout of the device features an optical trackpad and also the various shortcut keys for different applications. Other features are designed same like other smart phones, such as the volume bar being place on the left side, USB port, camera button etc.
Features
The strongest feature which makes MyTouch 4G stands out is the advancement that has been introduced .The device is now currently running on the Android 2.2 and the carrier also supports the HSPA+network. The most common features are voice dialing, multimedia messaging, camera, Bluetooth, call forwarding, call waiting etc.
Since MyTouch is offering 4G, this means that this has to be better than the experience of 3G. This statement is further supported by the evidence that surfing the web on this phone is a different experience altogether.
Positives: Sleek, elegant, solid appearance, offering 4G network connectivity, usage of Android 2.2, 5 mega pixel camera and 1 GHz Snapdragon processor.
Negatives: Result of the video call often tends to become very poor, most consumers would feel it heavier because of it stainless steel body.
Suggestion: Since most people do not perform video calls, therefore the device should be neglected. However, the experience of the device is different altogether and could not be matched by other brands in the market.
