One of the great qualities about apps for iPad and iPhone are how they enrich the hobbies we already love. You can go here to see how a variety of activities are supported by apps. One of the more popular hobbies for people to utilize the latest mobile technologies is photography.
Photos enable us to capture special memories, freeze moments in time and give us something to look back on in years to come. As technology moves on as time goes by, more and more apps are becoming available to enhance our photos to make them even more special.
Here are some of the best apps available on the market at the moment for editing photos without hassle and a lot of time needing to be spent doing so.
Apple iPhoto App
What better place to start than with Apple itself. The iPhoto app allows you to make grey skies blue, dull grass into lush landscapes and the sun brighter. It sounds idyllic; and it really is. A left-hand navigation panel lists all your photos and the right and center of the screen shows up to four selected photos. You can then edit each in turn, all the time comparing your images to get the best possible result.
The interface is, much like the entirety of Apple products, incredibly easy to use. There are no tutorials you must watch, instead you simply tap the screen and options appear at your fingertips. The possibilities are endless, and you can crop, rotate, adjust hue, saturation and brightness, and choose from numerous photo effects such as artistic, vintage and black and white colour changes.
The Apple iPhoto app is incredibly easy to use, and allows you to edit your photos easily and quickly on your iPad.
iRetouch Free
This advanced photo editor is available on the iPhone and iPod Touch, giving users the ability to use numerous editing tools to enhance photos on the go. For me, the real gem in this app was the ability to change small areas of colour – such as nail varnish – see picture below.
Usually reserved for full editing suites such as Adobe PhotoShop, it was great to be able to totally change an image without the need for a PC or Mac. The app also allows you to clone images, so you can another duplicate image side-by-side with the original, and change colour temperatures, invert colours, flip, rotate, crop and straighten…and all on a small screen!
For no charge, this is a must-have app for all avid photo takers. This app offers a quick, on-the-go alternative to Adobe PhotoShop and its features all work really well for great photos.
