The newly designed Inspiron Mini 10 netbook will be the new best friend for every student and professional alike. Weighing only 3.1 pounds and a 10.1-inch screen, it is light and can easily fit into your bag wherever you may go. This new dimension in netbooks takes you to a whole new level of experience.

The basic models come in a black screen lid.

The cover design is a glossy plastic lid with a variety of colors to choose from, whichever suits your taste. The bottom portion is also covered in a glossy white plastic.

The touch pad features integrated mouse buttons. The space bar is short.

The Mini 10’s new keyboard has been redesigned to perfection, and its new wrist rest helps defy fingerprints. It is drawn somewhat into the chassis and the keys appear to drift over the key bed. You will find the keys firm and springy and is comfortable to type on. As with other net books, the spacebar is petite. The touch pad is located at the bottom with incorporated mouse buttons.

The left side of the chassis (bottom) is where the VGA-out port, two USB ports, and media card slot located. At the right side (top) you’ll find the Ethernet jack, USB port, microphone jack, and headphone jack.

For social connections, the Mini comes with an 802.11b/g Wi-Fi for surfing the internet. A 1.3 megapixel Webcam is located at the top of the display bezel with a light indicator to let you know when the unit is ready to take a photo.

With regards to the battery life, this unit comes with a six-cell battery that could last for as long as 9 hours and 30 minutes, depending on the type of gravity of work you are doing. Like if you only do encoding and surfing, it could last that long, but if you are going to watch movies or play games, the battery could stay for 6 hours.

The laptop is already pre-loaded with a complete version of Microsoft Word and Adobe Reader 9.0. It is also packaged with a 15-month McAfee Security Center antivirus software plus a 60 days trial of Microsoft Office.
