Nokia Lumia 800 Contacts

Contacts is the application in Nokia Lumia 800 which stores all your contact’s data such as phone number, email address, social networking profiles, addresses and other details. It also comes with a very cool feature called the People Hub. The People Hub feature enables a single window access to all the information pertaining to a particular contact in your contacts list. As you are already aware of, you can also link different social networking account details of a contact in to a single one so that you can access them when required from one point only. So if you have by chance created several contacts for the same person just because of adding up different information of that person then just simply merge them into the parent contact and all others will get deleted. Several times we also like to save different phone numbers of a person under different contact names, like Sam Mobile, Sam Home, Sam Work, and this quite a common habit between most of the mobile phone users. Especially when you have limitations to call on different phones of those contacts during different times of the day you might need different names for the same contact.

Nokia Lumia 800 allows you to delete multiple contacts at a time. This is useful when you are auditing or cleaning up your phone to remove old and outdated contacts. Specially if you are on a SIM only contract and can’t change your SIM and you have saved a lot of unnecessary contacts on the SIM memory, you need to get rid of all contacts which you can easily.

How to Delete a Contact?

You can store a contact on your phone memory or the internal storage card. You can delete a contact completely from your phone or your card. Once you delete a contact you will not be able to access it anymore. You can either delete a single contact or delete multiple contacts at once. Also if you are changing your handset or giving to someone else to use, you should delete each and every contact on the contact book so that they are not misused.

Note: You have to be careful when deleting multiple contacts to ensure that you do not delete a contact that you did not intend to delete.

You can delete multiple contacts by following these steps by step instructions:

  1. Hi, im looking for a bit of help for a friend, she recently purchased a Nokia Lumia 800 and after setting up Live account for her so many of her contacts in the phonebook have been duplicated! I have an Android phone myself (HTC Desire HD) and I can simply go into Settings-Accounts & Sinc and uncheck any account thats running to avoid this annoyance, but it seems like rocket science to try and do this on a Windows phone! Basically she wont really use Windows Live (I dont think) so is there any way to delete her account so that ONLY the contacts she wants ie the ones on her sim are displayed? Thanks in advance to any response.

    James.
