Motorola Bravo (AT&T)


The Motorola Bravo (AT&T) smartphone is an Android phone which has smart and solid multimedia features.

Design

The Motorola Bravo has a similar design to that of the Citrus with a length of 4.29 inches, width of 2.48 inches, thickness of 0.52 inches and a weight of 4.59 ounces. It has a soft touch on the back and this makes it easy to the hands. The display of the Motorola Bravo is 3.7 inches and it is a midrange phone not having a Super AMOLED display but an LCD glass display of 16 million colors. The graphics of the smartphone are bright and sharp with text that looks clear and crunchy having a resolution of 480 x 854 WVGA.

The phone has a capacitive multi touch screen which is easy and smooth and the user interface of the phone is the Motorola’s new MotoBlur interface which enables one to move and resize on any of the phone’s seven home screens. While flipping through the seven home screens, a navigation bar is present on the bottommost row to tell you what screen you are on. The dialer, main menu and contacts list shortcuts of the phone will be seen in standby mode. You can use the phone’s own Android multi touch keyboard or the Swype keyboard that is not built-in in the Motorola Bravo but can be achieved otherwise.

Below the display you will find three touch sensitive Android keys including the Menu, the Home screen and the Back key. On the left spine of the phone is the microUSB charging port and the volume rocker on the right whereas on the top of the phone is a 3.5 mm headset jack and the Lock / Power key. The camera lens is on the back of the phone with the microSD card slot located behind the battery.

Features and Performance

Although the Motorola Bravo does not come with the latest Android 2.2 but with the Android 2.1, it still manages to have Android features including Google applications such as Gmail, Google talk, Google Voice Search, Google Maps and Navigation. It also supports e-mail through Microsoft Exchange while POP3 and IMAP accounts can be entered on your own.  The phone has MobiTV and DLNA support and a microSD card slot that can accept up to 32 GB card. The media formats that are supported in this phone are H.264, AAC, MP3, MPEG-4, eAAC+, AMR NB, WMA9 and other AAC+ media formats.

The phone also has a spacious phone book with the capacity to accept multiple numbers, an e-mail address, a photo, a ringtone and a street address of each contact. You can also enjoy the polyphonic ringtones, the voice mail, the caller groups, caller ID and the silent option of the phone. Other than that there is Wi-Fi, GPS, stereo Bluetooth, a countdown timer, a speakerphone, a calculator, a file manager, an alarm clock and a vibrate mode. The phone also has a 3 mega pixel camera.

As for the performance of the phone, the call quality showed to be pretty good on some tests but not on all. The battery of the phone is a 1,540 mAH lithium ion battery that offers a talk time of 8 hours and 9.9 days of standby time. The digital SAR of the Motorola Bravo is 1.59 watts per kilogram.
