The Motorola i886 is a functional Nextel phone for messaging that also consists of Direct Connect and a fabulous call quality. The good aspects of the Motorola i886 include an Android alike interface for the purpose of easy steering and innate. Its design is rough and robust along with a great keyboard. The Motorola i886 also contains an impressive number of features including Opera Mini and commercial e-mail support. However, the poor facets of the model include an average photo quality and just basic multimedia features.
Design and Features
The Motorola i886 has a diminutive design with a length of 4.6 inches, width of 2.0 inches and a thickness of 0.7 inches. It is covered in profuse wadding and a firm plastic and it is military-certified to endure shock, tremor, dirt, thrilling temperatures, squat pressure, humidity and solar contamination. The color scheme of the phone is black and gray and it’s a solid phone with a weight of 4.98 ounces.
The display of the phone is a QVGA one and is bright and colorful also providing support to 262,000 colors. The phone has clear, bold and readable graphics. The phone enables the user to make adjustments in the brightness and the backlight. You can choose from amongst the three Home Screens. Also you can display doohickeys for the calendar, the music player, Nascar updates, the single touch Direct Connect, the power control, the picture frame application and Sprint Football Live.
The display consists of directional keys below it including Home, Back and the Notification key. In the center of these keys is the directional toggle that has an optical touchpad. The phone also consists of surfaced keys for Send and Power/End on both sides of the toggle. The number keypad is located underneath the display with well-spaced keys that enable you to dial easily. For texting you can either use the keypad with XT9 or the full QWERTY keyboard. The left back side of the phone has the volume and the Direct Connect keys and the right side has the Micro-USB connector and the camera. The top of the phone however consists of a speaker button with a 3.5 mm headset jack and the camera lens is found on the back side of the phone. Behind the cover of the battery is Micro SD slot.
The Motorola i886 has the capability for storing more than one person’s address along with their e-mail address, postal dress, business name, IM username, nickname and web URL. It also enables text and multimedia messaging along with threaded conversations. The phone features an alarm clock, a vibrator, a calculator, a sound recorder, Bluetooth, GPS with TeleNAv support, application manager and Opera Mini. Other than that, it has a music player, a microSD card slot, a 62 MB memory and a space of up to 32 GB, a 2 mega pixel camera with resolution of 1,200 x 1,600 pixels to 160 x 120 pixels.
The call quality of the phone is very good and it responded well as the voice being clear and strong. It has a battery life of 4.08 hours with talk time and a 5 days standby time. The Motorola i886 contains a digital SAR of 0.87 watt per kilogram according to the FCC.
