One of the biggest issues with technology users is password recollection and management. As a computer tech, I have had many calls regarding lost Windows passwords and locked mobile phones. Now Symantec has an answer for those who use multiple passwords and need constant access for easier management. Norton Identity Beta is a new Cloud service that generates complex passwords for the services you use, while only requiring you to remember one simple password.
Overview:
Norton Identity works by generating complex and hard to remember passwords, although, you use an easy to remember password to log into your favorite services. By using Identity Safe, your easy password will allow you to access your services while Identity Safe logs you into the service by using your generated complex password. In other words, as you log into Identity Safe with your simple password, Identity Safe logs you into your service with a different, more complex password that was auto-generated.
Ease:
Though it sounds complex, the service is meant to offer the user an easy alternative to remembering multiple passwords. Your easy password will log you into all the services that you register through Norton Identity. Whether it is your Paypal account, bank account, or email, your easy password will work on them all. Meanwhile Norton logs you in using the complex password.
Added Security:
The reason behind Norton Identity is to allow users an easy password to remember so that it takes the responsibility of remembering the harder passwords. This adds security to your services by generating a hard to hack password. In the US alone, millions of computer users are hacked through weak passwords. Norton Identity keeps your account safe while allowing you to only remember one easy to enter password. This will help keep hackers out of your sensitive accounts.
Multiple Accessibility Options:
One of the features of Norton Identity is to allow users access to their services whether it is by phone or computer. With mobile apps available as well as Windows and iOS installations, you can access your services from anywhere. This Cloud based service is purely virtual and accessible wherever a connection is available. With mobile usage at an all-time high, Norton has made versatility and access its main priority.
If you are the type of user that has trouble remembering passwords, loses the little pieces of paper that holds your passwords, or are just looking for a more secure way to log into your favorite services, then Norton Identity may be your solution. Cloud services are giving more accessibility to those using tech and mobile devices. Norton Identity is currently in beta, however, you can be one of the first users to try this new service and keep your accounts safe.
