As someone with an interest in video editing, I am constantly in search of the best freeware available online. Finding something that is both free and valuable is not a task for the faint of heart, as there are many hurdles to jump. Many software developers who create a unique program of high quality are not willing to share it with the whole internet for free. Those that do offer free downloads of programs may place a distracting watermark on your outputs, edit only a small percentage of the video, or in the best case scenario, offer a limited free trial with all services included. Additionally, failing to have an updated, reliable virus or malware detection program can have disastrous consequences while downloading and trying out these products. Finding something that gives you an optimal program with none of these strings attached can be time consuming and ultimately very fruitless.
This is why I was pleased to stumble upon EasyFreeware.com, an archive of free software programs available to download over the internet. With hundreds of programs, drivers, games and applications, EasyFreeware.com makes it easy to narrow down your search for free products with a search bar, as well as updated links to the newest and most popular products available for download.
Freeware developers can add their multiple versions and updates of their products to the catalogue. To submit your product, the website screens for anti-spam bots, but does not seem to currently have any measures in place to keep sneaky malware and spyware programs out of the database. However, the site itself has a Google PR of 6 and McAfee’s SiteAdvisor does not spot any significant problems, and according to Google’s SafeBrowsing diagnostic page, Easyfreeware.com does not act as an intermediary in the distribution of malware and less than two percent of the pages on the site have had malicious contact.
Even with such low odds, it is best to keep your virus detection software updated while perusing the extensive freeware catalogue EasyFreeware.com provides. At the very least, you no longer have to search high and low for software that you’re looking for that is specifically free because it’s all free on this page. Furthermore, while some of the products I’ve tried have encouraged me to register and purchase the project, I haven’t come across any programs yet that will only output a small percentage of the file or bury it in annoying watermarks. Through EasyFreeware.com I am happy to say that I have discovered a new mpeg splitter that I’ll be using from now on. While I appreciate the service, I would not recommend blindly trusting any product listed on EasyFreeware.com, and finding the best software still requires a bit of trial and error. I recommend EasyFreeware for the ease in searching it allows, but I still encourage treading with caution as you would with anything you download off the internet.
