The Asus G73jh is a powerful laptop with a generous screen and a good color rendition. It is a gamer’s delight, but that is not the end of its powers as it is more than useful in many applications. It offers great speed and elegant looks. The lack of the crucial Blue -ray drive and a low battery give armour to its critics.
The device uses intel core i7 -720QM processor that performs a top shelf speed of 1600MHz. The memory bank is bolstered by an eight giga byte memory with DDR3 memory technology and a credible speed of 1333MHz. The Asus G73jh utilises one hard disk drive for storage purposes. The other storage facilities are; memory stick, memory stick PRO, multimedia card, SDHC card and XD -picture card. Its interface connections include HDMI and 15pm High Density D -Shell video interface. The machine also comes with four USB 2.0 ports, audio in/out, an eight -format card reader, giga bit ethernet, bluetooth and a useful 802. 11b/g/n Wi-Fi connection.
Its well -endowed software banker is further armed with cyberlink, Blu -ray disc suite, power 2 go and media source C – although the lack of eSATA and , more crucially, the absence of Blue -ray support is a big disappointment. The Asus G73jh also comes with inbuilt microphones, sub woofer, webcam and a carrying case/ cover. The 17.3 incher covers a width of 16.6 inches, a depth of 12.8 inches and a height of 2.3 inches. It packs a weight of 8.8 pounds, which ballons to 10.7 pounds when fully loaded with its huge suite of assortments.
The device offers a big surface with a tight keyboard that is receptive to typing aided by a generous wrist rest. The machine is great for viewing multiple spread sheets, games and movies while its text and contrast does not disappoint. The audio offers a good performance while not going overboard. The trackpad is a disappointment which can misbehave and require more pressure to perform. The glossy surface, while not affected in a lighted room, crumbles in direct sunlight, outside or near windows. the machine does not offer maximum tilt and comes with a painfully bad stereo separation. The battery offers a poor run of one hour 48 minutes, even with the excuse of its huge power consumption, that shift is still below the belt and should have at least clocked two hours.
The device comes good with an impressive score of 111 by the WorldBench Test. Its price of 1599 US dollars is not for the shallow -pockets but is good value for the gaming enthusiasts who will find its gaming arsenal quite enticing. In the end, the machine is a nice and good luxurious laptop, a perfect tribute to the Asus brand.
