Facebook is releasing some new updates to their website. The most important feature being that you can now download all of your user data. You will get a copy of everything that Facebook has on their system about you; everything.

At first you may think it will be difficult to download all of that data; but it isn’t. Once you download your data; you will receive it in zip format. Your windows OS will be able to open this; if you do not use Windows you can use Winrar to open the zip file. Here are the instructions for downloading all of your user data.

Step One

Login to your Facebook account and click the account menu. From there you will get a drop down menu; click account settings.

Step Two

Scroll down to the bottom and you’ll find ‘download your information’. Click ‘learn more’.

Step Three

Facebook will begin loading the download page; click download.

Step Four

Click download once again when the new download window appears. Facebook will send you through a lot of windows in order to get your information.

Step Five

Once you have clicked the download button a second time; facebook will tell you to wait for your archive email. So now you are going to have to wait until they are finish compiling your information, zipping it, and sending it to you. This amount of wait time can vary. It will all depend on just how much information is on Facebook concerning you and your data. Some people find that this process takes only minutes; while other people find they are waiting days to get their download. The best advice is to keep checking your email for your notification.

Step Six

Once you get the email in your inbox you need to click the link inside the email.

Step Seven

Make sure the email you received is actually from Facebook and not a

Phishing scam used to get your facebook password.

Step Eight

Once you have reached the facebook page you will need to re-enter your facebook password and click continue.

Step Nine

For the last part; just click download now and you will receive your zip file and be finished the process of downloading your information from facebook.

Finished! You have now completed your download.
