Even though the HTC incredible was released last summer, it is still one of the more desired HTC smartphones. The device also goes by the names of HTC Droid Incredible and HTC Incredible S. Under Verizons 3G network, this phone became known as one of the fastest phones available.
The device comes in black and red. It is 4.63 inches in length, 2.30 inches wide and 0.47 inches thick. It weighs approximately 4.6 ounces and is probably one of the thinnest smart phones to date, making it not so uncomfortable to carry around in your pocket. The layout of the front of the incredible is consistent with most HTC phones, in that it is pretty bare. There is the touch screen and below that are four quick keys. The right side, on the other hand, is bare. On the top there is a power/lock button in addition to a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The back is bare except for the camera and the HTC logo.
The screen is a 3.7 inch AMOLED display. AMOLED display screens are the top running screens at the moment. They save battery life by only lighting up parts of the screen that are displaying content. It is a multi-touch touch screen in addition to it being made out of scratch resistant Gorilla Glass. The device also has a light sensor and a proximity sensor.
The HTC Incredible runs on a 1000 MHz Single Core Snapdragon processor. It is pre-loaded with Android 2.2 FroYo and has the ability to upgrade to the latest Android Operating System known as Gingerbread. It is also equipped with Bluetooth v.2.1 a compass, an accelerometer, a stopwatch, and a built in GPS antenna.
The device has quite a bit of storage. It has 8192 MG of built in storage. Additionally, it has a microDS slot that can handle a 32 GB microSD card.
The phone has a 8 MP camera, which is the average quality of a digital camera. For those wanting to use their device a phone and a digital camera, this would be a great choice. The camera has a dual LED flash, auto-focus, and geo-tagging. Geo-tagging is a combined effort of your built in GPS and your camera. You GPS will determine where the photo is taken. Some use it as an organizational feature. The camera can also take 1280 x 720 pixel video, which is considered high definition. The camera also has a video light which is rare among smart phones, let alone phones in general.
The HTC Incredible has a 1300 mAh rechargeable lithium ion battery. Tests have shown that the device can withstand 5.21 hours of talk time and 146 hours of standby time.
